The Brazilian government has come up with a new IoT Research Center with a positive mindset. This facility intends to offer interactions between industries, government, citizens, and universities. This stimulating approach between the authorities will decide a bright technological future.
MCTI, The Ministry for Science, Technology, and Innovation specifies that this research center will be the first facility to employ modern technological inventions. It has the motive to employ the helix framework imposed upon quintuple innovation. Hence, it describes the interaction amidst the authorities of government, universities, environment, and public. It will furthermore enhance the knowledge economy.
This new IoT Research Center is situated in Sorocaba, which is 103 miles away from Sao Paulo. It is about bringing employment for citizens and will draw the attention of skilled individuals within the entitlement of “4.0 Technologies”. Apart from that, the technology application within several sectors will also enhance on priority.
The activities planned to be executed within the facility intend to follow up on the national strategy for Digital Transformation and IoT. As of the current reports, the present initiative that is being carried out within the facility is the 5G project. The IoT Research center intends to use a specific digital model for sharing the outcomes of all the projects that commence and execute within it.
The National Plan of Brazil, associated with IoT, was announced as a popular pillar to strengthen the Digital Transformation strategy of the country. This plan was created back in March 2018, and it was delivered in the month of June 2019. The delivery of this strategy did offer a mechanism for enhancing the development pace of IoT and the entire innovation ecosystem.
The IoT plan of Brazil represents the four important and crucial verticals. They include Healthcare, Manufacturing, Agribusiness, and Smart Cities. The plan was carried out with respect to an in-depth study and research. Following that, the funds for executing this plan came from BNDES, and the execution was done by a McKinsey-led consortium. As per the current researches, the Brazilian economy is going to grow by up to $200 million, by the end of 2025, with the implementation of IoT businesses, across the country.
Therefore, this new IoT research center is probably going to play a major role in the next few years. It will decide upon how the IoT plan of this country turns out in their favor. Apart from this research facility, there are many other developments imposed by the Brazilian government associated with IoT. One amongst them is the launch of a capital fund of $45 million in the month of May 2021. This capital fund will be for assisting the early-stage investment needs of companies that are actively integrating the connectivity arena and Internet of Things.
The Brazilian government aims big with the utilization of IoT, and with every step, they are ensuring productivity and high economic returns. The government is now eyeing the year 2025 to see if their prediction for the economy turns out to be true.
