With the help of 5G connectivity, Cisco has brought forward a smart Internet of Things experiment on the farming industry which allows the users in keeping tabs on the cow. Users are free to choose which cow do they want to keep their tabs on in real time. This is a breakthrough as the user can keep tabs on their smartphones.
The project has been named as 5G RuralFirst. Cisco has been pioneering the project, and the company has partnered with the University of Strathclyde. Cisco also has a consortium with several other partners from distinctive industries such as government, business, and academia. Cisco has decided to set three distinctive establishments in rural platforms, both software and hardware on the basis of experimentation in Shropshire, the Orkney Islands as well as Somerset.
The users can keep tabs on the cows in real time with the help on an application called "Me+Moo". The application is available on both Android as well as the iOS platform. The first thing that a person needs to do is begin with a herd, or simply join a pre-existing one (come rep "Grassy Muzzles". The users also have an option to pick cows and share a single relationship with a peaceful animal.
The connected collars, as well as leg sensors, are all ready to give a piece of real-time information related to the cows. With the help of the app, the user will get to know if his/her cow is currently scratching its body or whether the cow wants to have a big appetite to munch on.
By the looks of it, the app kind of looks a lot funny. And it also shows how efficiently eccentric the Industrial Internet of Things can be. The farming industry has been expecting to become the first beneficiaries of technologies such as these.
