A new era of effective shop floor replacement has come with the invention of "Dolly" - a smart choice of display solution. Reports from CHEP UK and Ireland discovered UK stores could save 600,000 staff hours onto their shop floors every year with the use of ‘Dolly.’
These staff hours are now consumed with pack-by-pack display replenishment with equipment like pump-trucks to navigate stock around the shop floor by using Dolly.
The Store Solutions Category Manager, Sean Field said his team believes in the robust quarter pallet display due to its effectiveness and simplicity. The stores struggle to fit the full-sized cages as their spaces are limited. Day by day, with the increasing products, it is required to display each and every product in front of the customers. It is also required to maintain the increasing promotional stock level on the shop floor.
In the UK and Ireland’s convenience store sector Dolly has a positive impact, especially with the wholesaler’s sector. The logistic Manager of Henderson Wholesale, Alan Abraham, said the CHEP Dolly blends perfectly with the philosophy of future supply chain as it allows the removal of inefficient processes.
‘Dolly’ can roll the unit from the stock room to the particular place of the shop floor to generate instant dividers, which can otherwise take hours for a single staff. The Dolly can be combined with sensor technology for faster communication.
Ashrit Cheepirishetti, CHEP UK & Ireland, Digital Solutions leader, said, “Similar beacon technology on the Dolly could also assist retailers in monitoring stock control, compliance and accumulation of big data to help adapt sales strategy.”
