Backstage Capital's Managing Director, Monica Wheat has reportedly joined the panel of the judges for an Internet of Things competition. Wheat will serve as a judge for the InnoSTARS competition which is backed up by the Chinese Government. The competition will conclude a 24-hour long conference called the IoT Tech Connect Conference. The conference will take place on the 29th of April 2019 at the famous Michigan Science Center.
According to the recent reports, the quarterfinals of Detroit InnoSTARS welcomes the applications till 15th of April this year. Among the participants, only ten companies will qualify for pitching their IoT services to a judging panel. Bloom will also serve as a judge for the competition. The competition will begin from 5 pm, and it will go around till 7 pm at the ballroom of Michigan Science Center.
Later the winners of the quarterfinals winners are going to compete in the following month, May, in Houston. After the winner is declared in May, they will be given an all-around trip to China in the winter time for competing with other participants who will come from different corners of the world.
Monica Wheat serves as a Co-Founder and Executive Director of the firm called Venture Catalysts. The firm consists of an ecosystem development group that focuses on funding, programming, business development as well as a strategy for the entrepreneurs - the programmings and partnerships by the Venture Catalysts seeds in large-scale as well as national partners. Venture Catalysts aim to provide opportunities to the local entrepreneurs in the growing markets.
Wheat also holds a Bachelor’s degree in Science in Engineering. She has graduated from the University of Michigan. On the other hand, Wheat is known to lead the promising Detroit Backstage Accelerator which is a three months program to support the founders and help them to each crucial milestone.
