The National Narrowband Network and Hunter Water have reportedly started a trial run for IoT. By the look of it, they have designed it to detect leaks. On the other hand, it will also predict the main bursts in the water even before they take place. The yearly trial would test a specific range of sensors. Moreover, it would monitor the water pressure flowing in different segments of the network located in the Lake Macquarie area.
The LoRaWAN Network of NNNCo, along with the N2N-DL data platform, will connect with the devices and delivering data. The partners are going to be deployed on 30 pressure sensors for monitoring the water pressure in real-time all around 25km of main pipes and five of the meters of Water Flow in Hunter Water pipes. The N-sen device of NNNCo would deliver connectivity to a couple of sensor types alongside the network.
Later the sensors are going to alert the Hunter Water of reductions in both flow and water pressure to enable fixing of the utility leaks and subsequently prevent the bursting of pipes. By the looks of it, the trail would utilize a personalized state-of-the-art LoRaWAN network which would be installed by the Hunter Water radio towers. Moreover, the system is going to extend into the pubic region of the region in the distant future.
In the year 2017, NNNCo has reportedly launched the trials alongside municipal water utilities of Melbourne to test the coverage, battery life and data delivery of the digital metering of water. NNNCo, trails alongside the South East Water, City West Water, & Yarra Valley Water that took place on the Mornington Peninsula.
Recently, NNNCo has launched a specified LoRaWAN network in the Gold Coast City. The system can support over 600,000 sensors alongside management tools in real-time. As of now, the system is abundantly available for implementation of IoT applications and commercial use.
