Essence SmartCare has launched a new patient-care solution that uses sensors, Bluetooth 5, cloud-based software, and a gateway. It will help in connecting the healthcare professionals with the patients for the delivery of customized monitoring plans.
Healthcare organizations will start utilizing and testing the remote patient monitoring (RPM) system this year. The system makes use of the technology of Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) to enhance patient care in the comfort of their homes.
Boaz Pal, the product management director of Essence SmartCare, said that the system is designed to deliver flexible solutions. It allows the healthcare providers to monitor the health condition of each patient in a customized way. The technology will provide daily reminders to capture sensor movements of individuals at the prescribed rate. Moreover, it enabled the patients and healthcare providers to track chronic health conditions like blood pressure, diabetes, and heart issues. The technology proves to be beneficial for being deployed in the assisted-living centers and homes of elderly people for easy tracking of aging issues.
The new product launched by Essence SmartCare is named as VitalOn Connected Care. The system combines telehealth and telecare to update the doctors about the conditions of their patients. Along with reminding the patients to take measurements like diabetes reading, it also alerts them when to call the doctor.
Pal explains that the solution is not only meant for the seniors but also targets the young people who require healthcare services at home. The unique feature of the system is that it enables the provider to add services and options to the already existing infrastructure.
The Essence team started working on the system nearly seven months back. However, the system will be launched this year by the company. The team analyzed the healthcare industry and identified the potential gaps in the delivery of care. It led to the development of the VitalOn system.
Essence SmartCare says that the healthcare monitoring system can also be an ideal alternative to telephonic calls. The system has the ability to send text messages. Moreover, when the patients forget to take the necessary readings at the prescribed time, it issues follow-up reminders until the reading is finally taken.
The intelligent solution is designed to monitor vital signs and different pre-set parameters to determine abnormal readings and alert the healthcare providers, patients, or their caregivers. According to Pal, the main goal of the system is to ensure that patients are safe at home. Moreover, the system also provides an assurance to the patients that someone is present to make them alert if there is any serious health issue.
The company plans to launch the VitalOn activity trackers this August. The tracker can be directly connected to the server and the physician of the user. The solution is specially meant for active people who are willing to monitor any kind of degradation in health. Piloting is all set to start in the third quarter this year. The system will facilitate easy sharing of the healthcare data and present it in an easy-to-understand way.
