In time, malware has evolved and became more of a stealth-like attack. Anyone can openly carry out the malicious attack to any device which is connected to the internet. Over time, the cybercrime is working in a democratic way, and the attackers have created an ecosystem based on democracy which is paving the way for the unskilled and new attackers. And these attackers can enter the distribution arena of malware at any time of the day.
Hacking is not the same it used to be. Globalization and the advancement in technologies have curated a new lineage of hackers, and these hackers have a lot of tricks up their sleeves. At first, all these attackers used to be the over-enthusiastic computer geeks who wanted to make their skills better to find the loopholes in the internet system. According to the Checkpoint Software Technologies Ltd, the post-2010 hackers are all about finance, and these black hat hackers work under the organized malefactor organizations.
The modern day business operations are based on the online operation, and this creates new opportunities for the cybercriminals who are proficient in breaking into the impenetrable systems of the company and steal the data. The attackers can take controls of these systems lock and control the owners as well.
By the looks of it, the cloud technology, edge computing or cloud computing has become an integral part of the major organizations around the world. With cloud or edge computing, the stakeholders of the company can access their data from any device or any location. And this is one of the reasons as to why cloud computing is regarded to be the weakest of all links.
On the other hand, the IoT devices are acting like Achilles' heel, not a good reference. IoT is expendable, and this is the reason why more and more organization are opting for IoT, but some of these devices are poorly coded and comes with default credentials that makes them vulnerable.
