Cavli Wireless an Internet of Things (IoT), together in partnership with a Kerala based Maker’s Village is planning to set up a 5G network testing lab which will enable India’s IoT startups and companies to test their deployment products and other services related to solutions. This lab will be one of its own kind.
According to the source, it was planned to launch in the third quarter of 2020, September to October. Cavli Wireless promised that this 5G test network would be absolutely free for the promising startups looking to establish various international standards IoT products and services in India.
Cavli Wireless further added they would provide six-month access to its inner Global Internet of Things connectivity network. Through this platform, the users can leverage the power of the local machine to M2M data network for their best-in-class services. The whole project will be supported by various renowned telecom operators along with the Cavli’s internal data partners.
The Chief technology architect of Cavli Wireless, John Mathew said that he envisages this lab will strengthen various promising startups to test their IoT products and other prototypes with the help of 5G technology standards. He further added the network test would be available with 5G SA and NSA modes that help the entire sub 6 GHz bands, together with LTE NB IoT.
Moreover Cavli Wireless will also allow the startups to test their projects with the C200 series 5G Internet of Things (IoT) cellular modules (along with C1X, C3X, C4X series) which are all set to launch at the end of this year.
Mathew further added, “The launch of 5G technologies is expected to have a transformative effect on society, especially with the development of smart cities. Cavli, with its innovative suite of solutions, is here to ensure that IoT solution developers are able to experience the power of 5G technology, through the test platform that will be set up,”
The decision was taken by the department of communication (DoT) with other departments of government and private companies. On 21st February the hackathon was launched, and it is supposed to be conducted over three phases. There are around 100 ideas selected by the organisers. They are also going to share a pool of 2.5 Cr.
They have included various sectors in the upcoming IoT technologies, some of them are:
Among the initial 100 startups, 30 will be shortlisted by the market players.
This idea will be going to benefit a lot of startups who are planning to come up with international standard IoT products and services.
