For most people a year doesn't seem like a long time. However, when it comes to the tech industry, a year will have a massive impact on the current and potential tech trends. Moreover, this is exceptionally appropriate in terms of the Internet of Things.
Just a year ago, a few experts of IoT said that the adoption of the said technology in Southeast Asia is still at its beginning. In the year 2018, only 8% of the IoT technology came into being across the South-Eastern region of Asia. Now, the situation seems to have changed in a significant way.
According to Gartner's recent survey concerning the tech agenda in Southeast Asia said that 11% of the CIOs ranks Internet of Things as their top-notch changing tech. On the other hand, Gartner also said that the Internet of Things would go through massive spending in the year 2019.
Satyajit Sinha, an analyst, working for Counterpoint Research said by 2018, ASEAN countries provided 1.1% of the worldwide IoT connections. Furthermore, Indonesia has accounted for almost 39% of the connection, whereas Malaysia incorporates 26% of the total IoT. Ecosystm, a tech advisory firm reveals that by the beginning of 2023 Asia-Pacific region will be the frontrunner of Internet of Thing. Data also suggests that IoT in the year 2023 would account for 48% of the worldwide spending.
According to Ecosystm, Internet of Things is more of a device sensor which comprises robust software and hardware. The IoT device allows two-way communication between the system of management and sensor. At first, the Internet of Things came from the radio-frequency ID and machine-to-machine interaction.
The industry concerning asset management uses the Internet of Things for tracking fleet vehicles all through LPWAN. And this comes from Xperanti Internet of Things, the operator in Malaysia that looks after Sigfox tech.
